Freddy Don, a celebrated artist known for his dedication to worship music and Afrobeat in Rwanda, has received an invitation to the Swahili Festival 2024. This major music festival will take place in Vancouver, Canada, from July 5th to 7th. Organized by the Swahili Vision International Association from Kenya, the festival aims to promote Swahili language and music.
Festival Highlights Featuring Freddy Don
The Swahili Festival 2024 features well-known artists from East Africa, including both secular and gospel musicians. Freddy Don, who started his music career in Rwanda, now lives in Canada. Other performers include Rafiki Band, Maju, Rayvanny, Mbosso, Rj the DJ, Bazenga, Kino B, AK-Slim, and Buji.
Rayvanny, a significant artist in the region, has over 5 million YouTube followers. He is famous for songs like “Number One” featuring Zuchu, which has over 93 million views. Other popular tracks include “I Love” with 35 million views, “Mbeleko,” “Kwetu,” and “Naogopa.”
Mbwana Yusuph Kilungi, known as Mbosso Khan from Tanzania, will also perform. He has over 2 million YouTube followers and is known for songs like “Hodari,” “Nadekezwa,” “Amepotea,” and “Tamu.”
Romy Jones, also known as Rj the DJ, will share the stage with Freddy Don. He is a key figure in Wasafi, an organization founded by Diamond Platnumz, his cousin, and personal DJ. Romy Jones is known for songs like “We Don’t Care” featuring Meddy and Rayvanny, “Sexy Mama,” and “Lava Lava.”
Freddy Don’s Excitement for Swahili Festival 2024
In an interview with InyaRwanda, Freddy Don expressed his excitement about the invitation to the Swahili Festival 2024. He looks forward to performing alongside renowned artists from the region, believing this opportunity will help him become an international artist. “I am thrilled because there will be many music investors and prominent leaders from Vancouver. It’s a ‘big stage’ for me, and it will help me showcase my talent,” he said.
